Editorial rules

  • Acta Elbingensia publishes scientific articles in the field of medical sciences and health sciences.
  • The journal publishes original, case, review articles, as well as letters to the editor.
  • The journal is run in an open access model (Open Access) under the terms of the Creative Commons license chosen by the Author:
    – CC‐BY‐NC (Creative Commons Attribution – NonCommercial 4.0 International), https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/
    – CC‐BY‐NC‐ND (Creative Commons Attribution – NonCommercial – NoDerivatives 4.0 International), https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/
    – CC‐BY‐NC‐SA (Creative Commons Attribution – NonCommercial – ShareAlike 4.0 International), https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/.
  • Publication of articles is free of charge.
  • Acta Eblingensia only publishes articles in English.
  • An article intended for publication should be submitted only through the Editorial System, available on the journal's website www.actaelbingensia.pl.
  • The article submitted for publication must be completely original and free from unauthorized borrowings from other works and sources. Articles previously published or submitted for publication in another journal are not allowed. It is unacceptable to conceal the name of the person who made a significant contribution to the creation of the publication, as the author or co-author of the work (ghostwriting), as well as to introduce the name of the person as the author or co-author of the work, even though his contribution to the publication is negligible or did not take place at all (guest authorship). Each submitted work may be subject to an anti-plagiarism procedure using the SimilarityCheck system (CrossRef).
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to make abbreviations and corrections. Any substantial changes to the text will be agreed with the Author.
  • After submitting the article, the editorial and publishing procedure is initiated. Its subsequent stages are:
    a) preliminary verification of the article for completeness and compliance with editorial guidelines – decision on the processing of the article, the need to introduce author's corrections or rejection of the article as inconsistent with the journal's profile or editorial standards,
    b) preliminary internal review conducted by the assigned Subject Editor, in agreement with the Editor-in-Chief – decision to send the article for review, author's correction or rejection,
    c) double-blind review (at least 2 independent reviewers) – decision to accept the article (preliminary acceptance of the article for publication), the need for author's correction or rejection of the article; the editorial office selects reviewers in a way that will avoid conflicts of interest between the author and the reviewer,
    d) editorial and publishing work - typesetting, layout, editing and language proofreading, statistical editing, author's proofreading (only changes that do not affect the content) and signing the publishing agreement,
    e) assigning a DOI number and publishing the article in the "online first" mode on the journal's website.
  • The condition for accepting the text for publication is obtaining two positive reviews. In the event of a diametrically different assessment of the text by two reviewers, the editors may appoint a third reviewer.
  • In disputed matters, the final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief, who makes his decision after careful consideration of the matter, consulting, if necessary, the opinions of other bodies, e.g. bioethics committees or the Scientific Council.
